COOL introduces new models of condensing units for air conditioning with DIGITAL scroll compressors.
15.03.2009. COOL introduces new models of condensing units for air conditioning with DIGITAL scroll compressors which offer stepless modulation of capacity from 10% to 100%.
Original solution takes advantage of the axial compliance feature of Copeland scroll compressors and trough a simply mechanical system periodically unloades the compressor operation. A cycle of alternate loading and unloading lasts 20 sec and the proportion of the time of both states decides about the current cooling capacity. Because periods of unloaded operation are short and are followed by periods of full loading this a mode of operation does not create any problems neither with oil circulation nor with motor cooling. During the period of unloaded operation compressor takes only 10% of nominal electric power what is certainly reflected in a seasonal efficiency.
The compressor is equipped with an external solenoid valve on the line between suction side pressure and modulation chamber. The valve is a key component for achieving modulation. When it is in its normally closed position the compressor operates at full capacity. When the solenoid valve is energized the scrolls are apart and there is no compression - unloaded operation.
COOL offers 9 models of packaged condensing units with ZRD compressors for air conditioning (R407C)in the range of capacities from 8 up to 33kW, including units with a single compressor of capacities up to 28kW. It gives the possibility to control the capacity in the range from 800W. Condensing units in version on the plate (without casing) are also available. Condensing units with ZRD compressors are equipped with an appropriate controller with an output to control the unloader solenoid valve depending on the suction pressure or the temperature of the cooled medium.
Apart from the offer for air conditioning COOL offers analogous solution for cold rooms and freezing rooms. In the nearest future more models with capacities up to 18 kW will be available.
